Roger Hannam is lecturer in sculpture at Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork, where he is also in charge of the foundry. He also oversees the college’s entries in the BAMS Student Medal Project. His sculptures have featured in exhibitions in various venues, including the Lavitt Gallery, Cork, and the Kent Gallery, Kinsale, Co. Cork, and in a national exhibition of small works, which was seen in Sligo, Dublin and Belfast in 1998. Two of his medals featured in the year 2000 American Medallic Sculpture Association’s exhibition. About his medal for BAMS, the artist writes: ‘Night Scape is inspired by landscape, a sense of place, and emotions that can be conjured up by a relationship of parts: a sense of mystery created by the full moon on a copse of trees or illuminating trees on a hillside.’
